Tent Camping Training prepares volunteers to safely plan and lead overnight Girl Scout experiences using tents at a designated campsite. Participants will learn essential skills including trip planning, tent selection and setup, campsite organization, outdoor cooking, fire safety, Leave No Trace principles, risk management, and preparing for changing outdoor conditions.
Participants will gain the confidence to lead tent camping trips while following GSUSA Safety Activity Checkpoints and council policies. This training helps volunteers create girl-led outdoor experiences where girls can develop independence, teamwork, problem-solving skills, resilience, and a lifelong appreciation for the outdoors.
