A Girl Scout Troop is comprised of at least five registered girls and
two registered adults. Troops can be formed in age groups or multiple
levels, depending on what the leader and Troop members prefer.
At the Troop Level, volunteers are needed in a variety of roles including:
Troop Leadership Team: Work with a group of Girl Scouts and
mentor them as they make new friends and develop connections that
will last a lifetime.
Troop Support Volunteer: Assist with activity planning,
snacks, money management, or other tasks necessary to keep the Troop
running smoothly throughout the year.
Cookie Volunteers: Coordinate the annual cookie program at
the Troop level, helping with cookie booths, inventory management,
and money. Watch the Girl Scouts light up when they earn
recognitions for being the best cookie sellers.
Service Unit Level
A Service Unit is comprised of a group of volunteers who offer
support to Troops in a specific georgraphic location. Every Troop is
part of a Service Unit.
Service Unit volunteers mentor adult volunteers as they work with
Girl Scouts to create memories they will never forget.
Many service units also plan events for all of the Troops in their
service unit.
Council Level
GSTOP Advisory Committees are cross-functional groups of volunteers
with various experiences and expertise that provide guidance and
influence for girl programming, volunteer training, and events for
Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains.
