Panhandle Fires
The fires in the Texas Panhandle have impacted our troops and Girl Scout families in Borger, Fritch, and surrounding areas. We know once the fires have stopped, the clean-up and rebuilding will be long term for many in the area. As Girl Scouts, we invite you to come together to support this area through donations of goods that are needed now, as well as in the future.
A group of Girl Scouts in the impacted area have joined together to offer activities for children at local churches, allowing their parents to manage the clean-up without concern for their children. They are in need of the following:
- coloring books
- crayons
- children's games
General donations may also be dropped off and include the following:
- bottled water
- Gatorade/Powerade
- shampoo/conditioner
- deodorant
- toothpaste/toothbrushes (child and adult)
- diapers/wipes
- formula/baby bottles
- sanitary pads/tampons
- non-perishable boxed food (no cans, please)
- blankets
- pet supplies/food
We will have drop off locations at:
- Amarillo Girl Scout office: 7620 Hillside Rd., Ste. 300
- Volunteer University, March 8-10 at Camp Rio Blanco
- Volunteer University, March 15-17 at Stevens Ranch
