Hi, my name is Ariana V. and I am a Girl Scout Senior. I am also currently a freshman in high school. I took part in a photoshoot for Fort Worth Magazine through Media Corps to represent entrepreneurship in Girl Scouts. This was an amazing experience and I got a chance to participate in it with my mom and another Girl Scout and her mom. While I was there, I interviewed the other Girl Scout, Lakynn who is a 4th grader, and her mom, Realynn Mears, about their photoshoot and Girl Scout experience. Below are their answers and a picture of us in the magazine.
Question: How long have you been in Girl Scouts?
Lakynn: This is my first year in Girl Scouts.
Question: What was your favorite part of the photoshoot?
Lakynn: I loved having a professional photographer take pictures of us and being able to meet new people.
Question: How did you feel when you saw the photos of yourself?
Lakynn: I felt good, confident, and proud that I could show my hard work through my sash.
Question: What part of the photoshoot made you feel proud and how they represent you as a Girl Scout?
Layknn: I felt proud showing my mom's vest with all her achievements and being able to live up to that standard with the help of my mom.
Question: Are you a volunteer or a parent?
Realynn: I am a brand new volunteer but I have been involved in Girl Scouts since 2nd grade.
Question: How do you feel about being part of the photoshoot with your daughter?
Realynn: I feel extremely honored and proud because I love sharing my Girl Scout traditions and experiences with my daughter.
Question: What message do you hope these photos will send about the Girl Scout program?
Realynn: As a professor at TCU teaching Marketing and Sales, I hope everyone knows that Girl Scouts can change peoples lives and the program is an amazing way to learn about entrepreneurship and being confident while selling products.
