Melinda Mitchell Jones, Board Chair

Melinda Mitchell-Jones, MSN, JD, RN, Board Chair: Melinda Mitchell Jones earned her bachelor’s degree in nursing in 1976 from Baylor University. She earned a masters in nursing with a focus on administration from University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a law degree from Texas Tech University. She has held a variety of clinical and administrative positions in healthcare throughout her career and has been on faculty with Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center since 2004. She recently stepped down after 10 years as Associate Dean responsible for online undergraduate studies to spend more time with her family. She sat on the board of Girl Scouts Texas Oklahoma Plans from 2009 to 2016; recently returning to the board in 2019. She was a member of the Women of Distinction Planning Committee for Lubbock in 2012 and 2013 and has been a member of the Board Development Committee since 2016. She is married to Glenn Jones, PharmD, MBA, has four grandchildren, and enjoys travel, reading, and needlepoint.

Jeanette Martinez, Vice Chair

Jeanette Martinez, Vice-Chair: Jeanette Martinez is executive administrator to Tarrant County Precinct One Commissioner Roy Charles Brooks. In her role, she focuses on administrative and constituent services by working alongside organizations to stay abreast of resources available to Tarrant County residents. Ms. Martinez earned her Master of Public Administration from the University of Texas in Arlington and her Bachelor of Science from Texas Wesleyan University. She serves on the Fort Worth Chapter of the Hispanic Women’s Network of Texas board as treasurer, Fort Worth Community Action Partners Council board as a member, the Tarrant County Resource Connection Advisory Board as chair, and the Tarrant Special Events Foundation as secretary.

Angela Lamb, Treasurer

Angela Lamb, Treasurer: Angela Lamb is an agency owner with Farmers Insurance and Financial Services.  She opened her agency in 2004 and has 5 employees.  She grew up in Auburn, Nebraska on a hog farm and moved to Texas in 1999.  She has been married to Les Lamb for 10 years and they have a 9-year-old son, Lone. Angela earned a Bachelor in Business Administration and Masters of Business Administration from Dallas Baptist University.  Earning Forty Under Forty in 2014 was a great accomplishment that she is very proud of.  Angela has served on the Fort Worth Chapter of the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors since 2007 and is a past President, she is currently serving as Treasurer for the Girls Scouts Texas Oklahoma Plains board of directors, committee member of the Platinum Women at the Fort Worth Club and serves on the membership committee for Women’s Policy Forum.

Ashley Gill, Secretary

Angela Boyd, Secretary: Angela Boyd is a Lubbock native and a Texas Tech graduate.  She obtained her master's degree in Social Work from Texas State University.  She’s an Army Veteran and is employed with the Department of Veterans Affairs as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.

Angela serves on the Lubbock's Veterans Advisory Board and serves as the adjutant for the R. L. Ferguson Chapter of the Disabled American Veterans.  She's an active member of the Lubbock Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated.  Angela volunteers her time and expertise to serve the community and help underprivileged individuals. Her time is rewarded by seeing others progress successfully in life regardless of the obstacles they face. 

Angela treasures her faith, spending time with her family and friends, reading and traveling.  Her bucket list is full of various books to read, places to go, things to do, and experiences to encounter.  Angela knows you get back more than you give.  And whether it’s work, relationships, or fun, she is blessed by giving.

Chief Executive Officer - Becky Burton*
Becky is a lifetime member of the Girl Scouts and has served more than 20 years with the organization.  A native of Abilene, she graduated from Texas Christian University in 1982. Becky currently serves on the Education Committee of the Rotary Club of Fort Worth.  She is an active member of her church, First United Methodist Church of Hurst, serving on the Finance Committee. Becky is also a member of the Association of Fund Raising Professionals, Association of Girl Scout Executive Staff, Women’s Policy Forum, United Way of Tarrant County, and the Fort Worth Chamber of Commerce.


Executive Vice President/Chief Financial Officer - Cynthia Odom*

In addition to financial oversight of the council, Cynthia’s responsibilities include strategy, human resources, communications, property management, information technology, product program, retail, and customer service. She serves on the Girl Scouts of the USA Network Alignment Committee, Cookie Steering and Product Program Committees. Cynthia has received numerous community awards including CFO of the Year and is engaged in her community through service on numerous local nonprofit boards and PTA’s including The Links Incorporated, Fort Worth (TX) Chapter, Women’s Policy Forum, Aids Outreach Center, Greater Texas Community Partners, Leadership Arlington, and the Junior League of Arlington and the national Board of the Association of Junior Leagues International.

Cynthia has a passion for women and girl causes, a love for travel and sports. On weekends in the fall, you will find her watching football either in person or on television.

Chief Mission Delivery Officer - Nekisha Q. Henry
Nekisha is responsible for providing leadership to the recruitment, volunteer engagement, girl experience, and the community partnerships teams. Prior to joining GSTOP, she lived in upstate New York serving as the Senior Director of Membership and Girl Experience at Girl Scouts of Northeastern New York (GSNENY) with direct oversight of summer camp, year-round programming, afterschool programming, and girl and adult recruitment. Nekisha directed the 2020 and 2021 COVID summer camp COVID response and served on the GSNENY Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Task Force.

A Girl Scout alum, Nekisha is a native of Houston, Texas. She has a passion for children with intellectual disabilities and spends her free time volunteering with the Autism Speaks and Special Olympics local chapters.


Chief Community Relations and Development Officer - Marilyn Jones
Marilyn is responsible for providing strategic leadership and direction to the GS-TOP fund development team and for developing new, sustainable partnerships with key community stakeholders throughout the Fort Worth/Tarrant County area. She is engaged throughout the Tarrant County community as a member of the Board of Directors of the Women’s Policy Forum and Women’s Policy Forum Foundation; member, Education Foundation for Fort Worth Schools; member, Barbara Holston Education Foundation; member, Women’s Health and Health Disparities Advisory Board and a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Fort Worth Alumnae, where she serves as co-chair of Delta Academy.
