Day 1 - Travel Day to Orlando

We’re pushed back in our seats, the plane picks up speed on the runway. We lift off the ground, on our way to Orlando, Florida.

We’re here! After months of planing and preparation, we have arrived at Disney World for Phenom by Girl Scouts! Upon arrival, we went to Coronado Springs hotel and put our stuff in our rooms. Then we jumped on a bus and headed to Disney Springs for some shopping! We shopped in “The World of Disney” store for awhile, then we split into two groups so we could go to the store we wanted. Some people went to the Disney Christmas store, while the rest went to the Lego store.

After those shops, we walked around and went in whatever store the group decided we wanted to look through.

For dinner, we went to Planet Hollywood for some fantastic food. We had so much fun listening (and singing\dancing) to the music as we waited for our food.

We then returned to Coronado Springs and started working on SWAPS. A few hot glue gun sticks, cowgirl hats, and disco balls later we head to our rooms and get ready for bed. We are super excited about the events planned for the next few days, and can’t wait to start that adventure tomorrow!!

See you then!

Day 2 – Magic Kingdom & Opening Ceremony

After a good night sleep, we were ready for our day in Disney World’s Magic Kingdom. We ate breakfast and got on the bus that took us to the Magic Kingdom park. After making it through security, we went directly to the “Mad Tea Party” ride. We all enjoyed the ride, and looked forward to our next, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train. We waited in line a little over an hour, but it was worth it!

We then went on to ride the carousel, Under the Sea, It’s A Small World, and the Haunted Mansion before stopping for lunch. We ate at Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Café. After lunch, the group split up so some girls could ride the Pirates of the Caribbean ride, and some could ride the Big Thunder Mountain ride. Afterwards we decided to get some ice cream.

When we finished our ice cream we went to Main Street to shop and watch the parade!

Then we went back to Coronado Springs to get ready for the opening ceremony.

When we arrived at the opening ceremony, we took our seats and waited for it to start. We got to listen to many keynote speakers all of whom are actresses and/or singers! We heard from Susan Egan, Alaya High (That Girl LayLay), and several girls from the Broadway musicals The Lion King, Aladdin, and Frozen. Afterwards, we had dessert and got ready for bed. We were incredibly excited about the Hall of Experiences in the morning! See you then!!

Day 3 – Hall of Experiences

We were all excited to go into the Hall of Experiences, so we were in line to enter when it opened at 9:30.

I asked several girls what their favorite table was, and I wanted to share what they said.

The most popular favorite was the Crayola Flowers. At this table, girls would walk around the table and create a bouquet of flowers.

Then came the Girl Scout Cookie table, where you walked by and got to eat some cookies. And several people enjoyed the NASA table, where you could earn a patch!

Some of the other favorites included the SWAP table, coding, geological, WAGGGS, axe throwing, podcast, and making butter!

After the Hall of Experiences, we ate dinner and got ready for the National Bridging Ceremony, where we got to watch Eleanor bridge!

We also attended Singing After Dark, where we got to sing songs with other girls! With one day still left, we couldn’t wait for the next day!

See you tomorrow!

Day 4 – Last Day

The last day! It feels like we still have so much we could do! To start the day off, we continue exploring the Hall of Experiences. Later some girls could go to the Fun Zone or Oasis, while others might have gone to the Mentoring Zone or Calm Corner.

I asked some of the girls: if they could take one table home to do with their troop, what would it be?

These are the responses I got: The most popular was the podcast table, the other responses were DIY ceramics, Crayola Flowers, NASA, Coast Guard, WAGGGS, Package Packing, SWAPS, NAVY, and last but definately not least, inflatable games!

After we ate lunch, we went back to our rooms to get ready to swim. The pool was big, and they had a water slide! We swam for a while, and then we went back to get ready for the closing ceremony.

At the end of the closing ceremony some of the Disney characters came onstage!

We went back to our rooms to pack and get ready for the plane ride home the next day.
