Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains is pleased to announce the launch of a new Young Professionals: Empowering Girls (YP:EG) group with a FREE virtual Zoom event on Tuesday, July 21 at 6:30pm.
Young professionals, both men and women in their 20s to early 40s, interested in making a difference in the lives of girls in their community are invited to attend the kick-off event to speak with GS-TOP staff about the group and learn more about the Girl Scout Leadership Experience—a collection of engaging, challenging, and fun activities available to girls, like earning badges, going on awesome trips, selling cookies, exploring science, getting outdoors, and doing community service projects.
“With an ongoing need for quality social connections during challenges COVID-19 presents, we decided it was the perfect time to start a young professionals’ group,” said Becky Burton, Chief Executive Officer of Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains. “Our Young Professionals: Empowering Girls members will be actively engaged in advocacy, volunteerism, and philanthropy to ensure Girl Scouts remains a vital, thriving organization for the next 100 years.”
The Young Professionals: Empowering Girls group is a place where members are empowered through service, friendships are nurtured, and new business connections are created. The group connects a community of young professionals, who believe in promoting the ambition of girls and actively work to ensure their success.
