Girl Scouts Love State Parks - Copper Breaks State Park
Girls Scouts USA and Texas State Parks are planning a great weekend of fun to promote getting outdoors and going to state parks. Come have some great outdoor fun at Copper Breaks State Park, the designated international dark park! Activities include:
- 10 a.m.: Geocaching
- 1 p.m.: Meet and greet the longhorns. Learn the history of longhorns and be part of a feeding session and photo opportunity.
- 3 p.m.: Geocaching
- 8:30 p.m.: Enjoy a night hike with special lights and learn about the nightlife and ecosystem of the park.
- 9:30 p.m.: Stargazing with park rangers and volunteer Jeff Barton. This park is designated the “International Dark Sky Park.”
You can fish all day, hike, and ride on mountain bike trails. There is a park store and museum.
Park entry fees apply. Please contact Heidi Vose with which activities you will attend by July 5. Come for the day or weekend. If you are coming for the weekend, make your site reservations on the Texas State Parks reservation site.
