Sleep Experts and Girl Scouts Share the Warmth with families in need

Girl Scouts are encouraged to participate in a variety of service projects so that they learn the importance of giving back to the community. Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains can give back to the community through Sleep Experts’ Share the Warmth Blanket Drive. Girl Scouts are asked to collect and drop off new or gently used blankets, sheets, towels, and pillows  to any of the retailer’s 44 DFW locations now through Thanksgiving.  Everyone has an extra blanket around the house, so clean out your closet and donate a blanket today! Also accepted are donations of comforters, sheets, towels, and pillows. It’s a simple way to help a family in need by sharing the warmth during a difficult time!
There will be two special Girl Scout drop dates: Saturday, November 16 and Saturday, November 23. All girls are welcome to donate blankets to the drive but, as all the Sleep Experts locations within our council are in the Dallas/Fort Worth area, it is the girls’ responsibility to get their blanket donations to a Sleep Experts store.  Find a Sleep Experts store near you.  Please note that patches are being funded by Sleep Experts and will be available on a first come, first served basis.      Patches can be picked up at the Fort Worth & North Richland Hills Girl Scout stores.

Last  year...
1,392 Girl Scouts shared the warmth!
And, they donated 2,524 items!
The 2013 Share the Warmth Blanket Drive benefits The Family Place in Dallas and SafePlace in Austin, as well as other domestic violence shelters in North and Central Texas.
