Real Girls Real Women Event Series

Join us for the Real Girls Real Women event series - a Celebration of Girl Scouting.  This annual event series, including the Women of Distinction Awards and the Gold Award Gala, recognizes outstanding women leaders and Girl Scouts for their service to the community.  Your support of the Real Girls Real Women event series through sponsorships and ticket purchases helps provide the genuine Girl Scout Leadership Experience to over 23,000 girls throughout our council.

GS-TOP Real Girls Real Women Event Series

This annual event hosted by Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains honors women leaders in our communities, who demonstrate strong initiative and personal leadership on issues relating to women and girls. Join us as we celebrate women who uphold the Girl Scout Promise and Law in their daily life; who are positive role models for girls; and who demonstrate outstanding leadership, influence, and achievement through service to their community. Proceeds from the Woman of Distinction events support Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains program activities to build girls of courage, confidence, and character, who make the world a better place.
 

Lifetime Achievement Award
This award shall be given to honor extraordinary distinction in lifetime achievement, exceptional contributions to Girl Scouting, or for outstanding service to our community. 
 
Discover Award 
The award is presented to a woman who demonstrates exceptional understanding of themselves and their values and uses this knowledge in every way possible to help girls and women explore and discover themselves and their world. The award recipient has demonstrated personal generosity in the art of helping others (or organizations and systems) to discover and cultivate women leadership qualities. Honorees have played a key role in assisting others discover their potential, but also set an example for others to follow.
 
Connect Award 
This award honors exceptional leadership in connecting with others to create solutions in our community and beyond to make a world a better place. The Honoree inspires, builds cooperation and encourages others to do so as well. The Connect Honoree demonstrates organizational skills, as well as the ability to recruit and motivate others to support philanthropic causes.
 
Take Action Award
This award honors an outstanding corporate leader or woman in business. Many businesses, civic organizations, foundations, and service groups serve our communities and advance the quality of life and opportunities so vital to the development of and support of women leadership. This award is presented to a highly visible champion of existing or special projects, and new initiatives in support of the Girl Scout mission.

2013 Fort Worth Area Women of Distinction Luncheon - May 2

The third annual Women of Distinction Luncheon on May 2 recognized a group of purpose-driven leaders who, like the girls, are dedicated to service and leadership and and is fast becoming one of Fort Worth's premiere daytime events.  Along with the Gold Award Gala, this is part of the Real Girls Real Women Event Series, a Celebration of Girl Scouting. Our honorees inspire us through their example, to achieve the highest ideals of character, conduct, and service.
