Girl Scout Awards
Through Girl Scouting, girls can earn many different awards in a variety of topics. In addition to the Journey Awards contained within each Journey Series (It’s Your World – Change It!; It’s Your Planet – Love it!; and It’s Your Story – Tell It!), there are awards for each grade level. Each copy of The Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting includes a fold-out page listing all of the awards available for each grade level. Each grade level has awards in Financial Literacy and Cookie Business, as well as the My Promise, My Faith award. Daisies earn Petals and Leaves. All other grade levels earn Badges. There are seven categories of Legacy Badges for each grade level as well as Skill-Building badges for each Journey series. There are so many to choose from that girls will always have enough to keep them interested and engaged in learning.

President's Volunteer Service Award (Deadline: Ongoing)
As a Certifying Organization of the President's Volunteer Service Award, Youth Service America distributes the PVSA to those who meet or exceed the award criteria. Established in 2003, the PVSA is given by the President of the United States and honors individuals, families and groups who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to volunteer service over the course of 12 months.
To qualify for the President's Volunteer Service Award, volunteers simply submit a record of their service hours to Youth Service America, and we will verify the service and deliver the PVSA. Volunteer service hours are not limited to those performed as part of Youth Service America programs. In fact, service hours can be accumulated through work on a variety of projects throughout the year. The only requirement is that the necessary hours be completed within 12 months; recipients can qualify for a new PVSA each year. Honorees receive:
- An official President's Volunteer Service Award lapel pin
- A personalized certificate of achievement
- A congratulatory letter from the President of the United States
- A customized press release
- Eligible to be recognized as a YSA Service Star
