A Report on GSUSA Program Materials Review
From the National Program Crew and Girl Scout Merchandise Team
In the past weeks GSUSA have reviewed 36 Journey books, 6 Girl’s Guides, 12 badge packets, and the content of the online girl’s site. The review included staff members from 18 Girl Scout councils from throughout the country, an educational publishing consultant, our PR firm that advises on social issues, and 7 members of GSUSA program staff.
In the process we have identified a few areas where we plan to post corrected pages on the corporate website. As the books come up for reprint, these corrections will appear in the books as well. None of the corrections result in any changes to activities girls would be doing--all corrections are related to background or peripheral information.
Journey Corrections
Journey corrections can be found online at www.girlscouts.org. Choose “Program,” then “Journeys,” then choose a grade level and a book. Corrections, if any, will be posted in the “Resources” box on the lower right- hand corner.
Badge Corrections
Badge corrections are available at www.girlscouts.org . Choose “Program,” then “The Girl’s Guide to Girl Scouting.” Corrections will appear in the “Resources” box in the lower right-hand corner.
