Outdoor 101 WEBINAR

This course is the prerequisite for all outdoor classes.  This class provides participants with the basic knowledge required to take girls camping at both council and non-council facilities.

THIS IS A WEBINAR OPEN TO ANYONE IN THE COUNCIL.

After taking this class, you will be able to identify the 8 Basic Outdoor Skills for example: Outdoor Manners (Leave No Trace) leave natural objects like flowers, rocks, shells, etc. where they are found, and Dressing for the Outdoors, how to dress in layers, personal gear.  You will also learn about girl progression in the outdoors, Look Out, Meet Out and other progression steps to prepare your girls for the world outdoors.  Safety procedures is included in this training knowing how to use Girl Scouts Safety Activity Checkpoints, along with what forms to fill out and where to go for outdoor experiences.

NEW MEMBER ORIENTATION IS A PREREQUISITES FOR THIS CLASS - If you have not taken New Member Orientation, please contact your Volunteer Specialist.
