Cookie Press Corp Training
Have you always wanted to be on camera, are you outgoing, interested in doing interviews and getting the scoop on a story,or interested in a career in media? If you are in 7th grade or above, this training is for you!
We are looking for spokesgirls for cookie season and beyond. You may get the chance to interview for TV, radio, or print as well as have some public speaking opportunities throughout the Girl Scout year. You may even get to be a reporter for Girl Scouts during Cookie events.
Media is all around girls-from the clothes they wear, to the texts they send, to shows they watch. Through this program, girls will learn to become educated consumer's of media. They will explore different media tools, learn the definition of stereotypes and how they impact media, and examine ways media positively and negatively impacts their lives. They will also learn about different careers in media as well as interviewing techniques and reporting with the help of Fox 34 Reporter, Ashley Claster.
Training will start at the Science Spectrum and will conclude with a tour of Fox 34 News station and observation of the news cast that night at 9pm.
We will provide each girl with a Media Journey book, a notepad, pen, and Girl Scout white polo. Dinner will also be provided. Parents/leaders will need to provide transportation to the News station that evening from the Science Spectrum.
