Cabin Camping

This is NOT a classroom style training you will be “hands on” at this overnight class. this class is required to take your troop camping.

This is a required class to take a troop camping.    Participants will learn fire building safety, the 3 types of wood type: Tender, Kindling, Fuel and how to frame including how to make and use camp fire starters. Troop meal planning is part of this training, including Non Cook Meals. You will also learn how to properly care for equipment, how to maintain seasoned cast iron pots, how to implement Patrol Camp Kaper charts, knots, and the basic concept of Leave No Trace and fun activities for the girls.   Bring  your "Outdoor Education in Girl Scouting" book you received in Outdoor 101.   Prerequisite: must have taken Outdoor 101 within a year.

 

This class must have 5 participants to make.
