Community Leader Volunteers - Amarillo
Middle School girls LOVE to hear and see local business’s talk about what is good for them and what is not. Girl Scouts Texas Oklahoma Plains has a twelve week Middle School Program, and we need community leaders to speak to the girls about the following topics:
Journey Sampler Planning Committee
Open for adults who love to coordinate a series of activities grouped around a Journey theme.
Take Action Planning Committee
Open for adults, Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors who want to help others make a difference in the world.
Flag Etiquette Class Facilitators
Open for adults, Seniors, and Ambassadors who would like to share their patriotic pride through teaching younger Girl Scouts the importance of flag etiquette.
Program Resource Confirmations - Volunteer
A volunteer is needed for short term work in April - May to place phone calls to community program resources to verify information for publication in the Odyssey (annual Program/Training book). Work from home OK.
Fall Leader's Rallies - Volunteer
Short term volunteers needed in June - August to place phone calls or emails to program partners in Abilene, Fort Worth and Wichita Falls. Recruit for participation in August Leader Rally (host a booth). Help from home OK.
Summer Extreme Task Group - Volunteer
Short term volunteers needed in August - October to work with staff/volunteers to develop Summer Extreme program opportunities. Input for summer guide publications and attend monthly meetings. Other duties can be done from home.
Gold Award Advisory Board - Volunteer
Long term volunteers are needed to serve as a member of the board to review/approve Gold Award Proposals. Assists in annual recognition events. Group meets once a month.
Program Aide Facilitator - Volunteer
Several long term volunteers needed to teach middle and high school girls leadership through Program Aide courses. Requires commitments on Saturdays and Sunday afternoons and occasional camping weekends. Courses offered bi-monthly.
Translators - Volunteer – Council-Wide
Volunteer translators are needed throughout the Council.
