Each year on February 22, World Thinking Day, girls participate in activities and projects with global themes to honor their sister Girl Guides and Girl Scouts in other countries. World Thinking Day not only gives girls a chance to celebrate international friendships, but is also a reminder that Girl Scouts of the USA is part of a global community—one of nearly 150 countries with Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. 100 Days of Service - February 22 - June 1, 2012

“Be Prepared” for 100 Days of Service
Starting February 22 and continuing through June 1, 2012, Girl Scouts of Texas Oklahoma Plains has adopted three goals(Reducing Hunger, Reducing Poverty, and Sustaining the Environment) as our focus for community service through the 100 Days of Service project. Troops and Service Units are encouraged to implement service to the community during this time to concentrate the Girl Scout presence and visibility to the world in the days surrounding our 100th Anniversary. NOW is the time to prepare your troop! Engage the girls in conversations about what they can do to make the world a better place during the 100 Days of Service. Will they need money to provide the service they choose? We have listed available grants which can help fund your cause. Also, girls may set a goal for the cookie sale to fund their service. For Juniors, Cadettes, Seniors and Ambassadors, they may want to implement a Bronze, Silver or Gold Award project during that time span.
